We’re feeling largely recovered from yesterday’s scary incident, in which we enjoyed the good favor of the universe and everyone was fine. I had to deal with calling the insurance company and all that stuff today. But Little Liebchen is fine, and Das Big Boy got through his first day back at school after our wild weekend.

We continue to be obsessed with First Orchard, aka, Crow. It’s the first board game all four of us have gotten into and it’s really cute. Unfortunately, I think Herr Husband and I are inadvertently bestowing our hypercompetitiveness upon our children. Das Big Boy is very concerned with what he rolls each time. Although he finds the crow hilarious, he finds it far preferable when someone else rolls it. So much for the “cooperative games” aspect.

And finally, I feel compelled to share the party favor from Little Liebchen’s little birthday shindig. Surely many guests thought I was crazy. And others were far more excited to enjoy the Lego people than their children were. Hipster Hausfrau, attempting to empower young women and shape young minds toward a more egalitarian society. But really just weirding people out. Sounds about right.
